Mazus reptans features semi-evergreen, herbaceous, light green foliage, oval shaped, up to 2" in length. Profuse lavender/light-purple blooms cover the bed in spring.

Mazus is outstanding as a border, between stones and pavers, or in rock gardens. It is particularly well suited for underplanting roses or planting over lilies and other bulbs - it shades their roots without interfering with their growth and adds another layer of color before they emerge.

Moderate to fast spreading, roots as it spreads. Grows more rapidly in moist soil. Tiny tubular flowers in spring resemble butterflies. Will tolerate some foot traffic and an occasional mowing. Deer resistant. Spacing 9-12". Mature height 2".
