Daylily ’Ming Toy’

’Ming Toy’ features showy deep velvet red flowers with a vivid golden yellow throat. The 3" to 4" diameter blooms appear on 18 - 20" stems in mid- to late-spring, repeating until fall. The deep color holds up well, even in full sun in southern zones.Best used as tall ground cover, in mixed borders, or as a mass of color - particularly striking at door entrances. The fresh cut flowers of ’Ming Toy’ hold up well indoors.
Evergreen in southern zones, moderate to fast growth rate, tolerant of drought. Prefers well-drained soil, spacing 12-18 in.
This variety is "dormant" (they lose their foliage after frost and remain leafless or without foliage for some period of time that is variable by cultivar and growing region).
