’Sammy Russell Red’ features 4-inch vivid brick red star-shaped blooms with a golden apricot throat. 28-32 inches tall, blooms from midsummer to early autumn, spacing 18-24 inches. Sammy is a fast spreading plant that creates a dense groundcover. The bright flowers make an unusual burst of color in the late-season garden.
This variety is "dormant" (they lose their foliage after frost and remain leafless or without foliage for some period of time that is variable by cultivar and growing region).
