’Stella de Oro’ has golden yellow 2 1/2" fragrant flowers. Blooms early- to late-season and repeats bloom cycle, one of the best rebloomers. These perennials are grown for their showy and fragrant golden yellow flowers. The plants will flower from early summer to fall and are semi-evergreen to evergreen in warmer climates.
Its ability to re-bloom over a long period, along with its adaptability to a wide range of planting zones and conditions, makes Stella de Oro the most popular of the daylilies. The foliage is also attractive, forming a dense clump that can function as a groundcover.
Plant position in the garden should be carefully considered as the flower heads turn toward the sun. Although not fussy, it will perform better in a soil with plenty of humus. Deer tend to avoid. Height 8-12", spacing 9-15".
This variety is "dormant" (they lose their foliage after frost and remain leafless or without foliage for some period of time that is variable by cultivar and growing region).
