Iberis sempervirens is an evergreen flowering groundcover with dark green leaves (1" - 1 1/2" long, 1/8" - 1/4" wide) that look great all year. It forms a stunning blanket of pure white blooms (up to 2 inches across) that cover the bed from spring to early summer. It blooms sporadically throughout summer, especially if pruned or mowed after the first flush of blooms fade.

Iberis sempervirens comes from the Mediterranean region (from rock crevices on the higher mountains) and makes a great filler for crevices in walls or between the stones of walkways. It is ideal for neglected spots because it thrives in poor soil and prefers to be rarely watered. About the only thing that will kill it is too much dampness.

It spreads slowly to moderately fast, for wherever its branches touch the ground they tend to take root. Spreading can be easily controlled by shearing or mowing annually.

It adapts to various soil types with good drainage, is tolerant of drought and moderately tolerant of salt. Excellent for edging and rock gardens. Does best in full sun, with a slow to moderate growth rate. Mow after they bloom if you want a prolonged blooming period. Mature height 6" - 12", spread 2’ - 3’, spacing 16" - 24".
