Juniperus p. ’Nana’
{24 Pots - 3 1/2 in.}
(AKA Dwarf Japanese Juniper)Juniperus procumbens ’Nana’ is a low-growing, creeping groundcover with deep blue-green foliage that turns slightly purplish in winter. Spreads slow to moderately fast to 6-8 feet wide to form a large, dense mat.
’Nana’ has excellent landscape value as a low ground cover. This extremely dwarf juniper is commonly used for mass planting as a turf substitute, bonsai, borders, on banks, in rock gardens and planter boxes, around tall shrubs or trees or cascading over a wall. It is excellent for erosion control on light to moderate slopes and is particularly effective in sandy locations along coasts or dunes.

This juniper is tolerant of poor soils, even clay, as long as drainage is adequate (prefers a dryish, sandy soil). It does best in full sun.
Tolerates heat, drought, dry growing conditions and city air pollutants. Intolerant of wet soils. Deer tend to avoid, resistant to salt damage. Said to be tolerant of growing near black walnut trees. Shipped with a 4-5" spread. Height 3"-5", spacing 12-18".
