Liriope muscari ’Majestic’ is an evergreen, clump-forming perennial with narrow (1/2" wide) blade-like, dark green foliage. Dense spikes have clusters of large, coxcomb-shaped deep lilac flowers emerge in late summer to fall.
’Majestic’ has larger and showier flowers than other varieties of Liriope. It is a superb easy care low maintenance ground cover, edging or border plant - it excels at erosion control and works well in containers.
In northern areas the foliage may become pale green-brown during the winter. Best to mow foliage at the highest possible cutting height in late winter before new growth begins to emerge.
Tolerates drought and slopes, deer tend to avoid. Moderate growth rate. Mature height 12" - 15", spacing 10" - 15".
