Liriope spicata
{70 Pots - 2 1/4 in.}
(AKA Creeping Lily Turf)
Narrow grasslike leaves are 1/4" wide and 1-1.5’ long, but due to their arching habit are about 1’ high in Summer. Pale lavender to white flower spikes bloom in late summer, rising on 10" stalks above dense arching, evergreen (in southern zones) tufts of grassy foliage.

Perfect for banks, beds and at the base of trees where roots will not permit grass to grow - an almost indestructible plant for stubborn areas. Outstanding for erosion control. This mat-forming Liriope gracefully fills those spots where nothing else will grow and will choke out most weeds. It spreads moderately fast by underground rhizomes. The foliage resembles very vigorous turfgrass, hence the common name.

An excellent low-maintenance turf substitute for low foot traffic areas. Fallen leaves can be easily raked free from its linear foliage, unlike most groundcovers where leaf litter becomes entangled.
Tolerates drought, poor soil, heat, humidity, slopes and moist areas (performs best in moist, fertile soils). Moderately tolerant of salt. Deer tend to avoid it. Not suitable for borders. To maintain the most attractive appearance, mow or cut back the tops in late winter or very early spring before new growth begins (to allow new growth to emerge unimpeded from the crowns). Mature height 12" - 15", spacing 6" - 10".
