Asiatic Jasmine is an evergreen trailing vine with dark green 1" - 2" leaves that forms a dense mat of attractive foliage that inhibits weed growth and controls erosion. Small white slightly fragrant jasmine-scented flowers may emerge.

It does well in harsh urban environments (such as traffic islands), containers and hanging baskets and can be trained to climb 8-10 feet if given support. If it blooms at all, it blooms best on upper stems when climbing in a sunny or partially-sunny location (smaller or non-existent blooms when prostrate and/or in less sun).

Asiatic Jasmine withstands some foot traffic, is salt tolerant (near the beach, not on the beach), and can tolerate drought. It does best with ample water the first season, needs much less water after establishment. Moderate growth rate, it can be slow to establish so closer spacing is sometimes preferred.

Tolerates deep shade, but prefers moderately shady situations in hot summer climates. Can be grown in full sun if kept watered or temperatures are not extreme.

Prefers regular watering and rich loamy soil, but will do well in any soil that is not soaking wet. Can be pruned (or mowed) in early spring to maintain a tidy appearance. Mature prostrate height 6-24", spacing: 8-12".
