It's easy to figure out what you need.
"General Spacing Recommendations" contains general spacing guidelines for the four forms that we sell plants in. If there is no specific spacing suggestion in the description of the plant you are getting, use this spacing suggestion if you are not sure what spacing you want. For example: if you are buying a plant in a 3 1/2" pot and there is no spacing suggestion in the description, then we suggest a spacing of 12-18" to get a decent fill by the end of one year (use 12" if you want it to fill in quickly, 18" if you do not mind it filling in slowly, or something in-between). The "Plant Estimating Chart" contains a quick table of the number of plants needed for various spacing/area combinations. Select the column headed by the spacing you desire, and select the row that starts with the size of the area you wish to cover in square feet - the box where they intersect contains the number of plants you need. If your spacing or area does not correspond exactly to one of the rows or columns, use the "Spacing Multiplier" table to calculate it precisely. The "Spacing Multiplier" table translates your spacing into a "multiplier" that can be used to calculate the number of plants required for any size area. Multiply your area in square feet by the Spacing Multiplier associated with your desired spacing and you get the number of plants required to cover that area with that spacing. That's all there is to it! Happy Gardening!!
