Lirope muscari ’Variegata’ is, as its name implies, a variegated border grass. This handsome, clump-forming perennial with evergreen, arching, grasslike foliage is dark green with vibrant white to creamy yellow variegation on the outside of the leaves.

It brightens and adds color contrast to any planting. Profuse lilac-lavender blooms - similar to grape hyacinths - appear on top of the tidy plants in early fall (about two weeks later than other Liriope species).

Moderate to fast growth rate, excellent for edging, ground covers and accent plants. It is a great plant for bordering sidewalks and as an edging for the landscape bed. It will grow well around trees and shrubs.

It prefers moist, but not wet soils, and tolerates drier conditions when established. Once established. these plants are virtually maintenance free. Mature height 12-16 inches, spacing 12-15 inches.
