Daylily (Hemerocallis) ’Pandora’s Box’

This unusual daylily features very fragrant showy and lightly ruffled rich creamy yellow 4" petals with a striking maroon-violet-purple eye above a bright green throat (the yellow hue is washed out in this photograph). Early- to mid-season evergreen repeat bloomer, 18-24" tall.Widely adaptable to various soil and moisture situations, performs equally well in northern and southern sun gardens. The blooms are fade resistant, even in bright sunlight. This plant requires no care and reblooms later in the season in most areas. Loves heat, does well in containers and does unusually well in northern climates. One of the "hardier" daylilies for more severe climates.
Use as informal edging or plant in masses for a more intense color presence. The iridescent flowers appear to glow in the dark.It is drought tolerant, but blooms much better with regular watering. Deer tend to avoid.
