(AKA Variegated Creeping Liriope)

This Liriope cultivar is a rhizomatous, grass-like perennial which forms clumps of narrow (1/4" wide) leaves. Leaves are striped with beautiful silver and ivory banding. Erect flower spikes with pale lavender flowers arise among the leaves in late summer. Flowers often give way to blackish berries in fall.

It forms a broad, dense carpet that is resistant to leaf-spot diseases which sometimes afflict other variegated liriopes. Results in a particularly stunning contrast when planted under or in front of dark green plants or shrubs. Evergreen in southern zones.

Spreads moderately fast to rapidly by underground rhizomes. Highly variegated, often planted under shallow-rooted trees and along streams or ponds. Effective in rock gardens, as small scale ground cover, edging paths, borders and accents. Excellent around boulders or rocks. Can help stabilize soil on banks or slopes. A startling contrast with black mondo grass. Drought-tolerant, suitable for xeriscaping. Moderately tolerant of salt. Mature height 10" - 15", spread 15-18", spacing 8" - 12" inches.
