Evergreen, veined 1 1/2" - 4" oval leaves, lightly toothed at ends. Clusters of small white flowers in spring. Spreads slowly to moderately fast by underground rhizomes. Prefers well drained, organically rich, loam and shade. Tolerates poor soil but will spread more slowly in poor soil. Will tolerate some sun in northern zones, needs shade in southern zones. Overexposure to sun may cause this plant to suffer and turn yellow. Mature height 8" - 15", spacing 8" - 15".

Japanese Spurges are evergreen the year round, are self-sustaining and always look good. Once established, a Pachysandra planting will eliminate grass cutting and weeding. Your lawn work stops where this plant starts. This plant is used extensively under large spreading trees, back of buildings or in other situations too shady for grass to grow.
