Liriope muscari 'Royal Purple' {50 Bare Root plants}
|
'Royal Purple' has attractive evergreen (3/8- to 1/2-inch wide) leaf blades. In late summer, deep-purple flower spikes cluster on (6- to 8-inch wide) upright stems. Its flowers have six petals and are a half-inch wide.
Royal Purple forms excellent outlines for formal gardens. It is particularly suitable for southern gardens or in shady and dry places where little else can grow. Landscape uses are container plantings, rock gardens, woodland gardens, seashore plantings, borders, massing, and groundcovers.
Moderate to fast growth rate is at its optimum with a fertile, moist, well-drained soil in light shade. At the same time, Royal Purple tolerates heavy shade and a wide range of well-drained soils; it is drought and heat resistant and does well in both sun and shade.
If planting in zone 5, check with your local extension to confirm winter hardiness in your area.
If you are considering purchasing this plant in bare root form, please read about bare root plants (especially the paragraph about bare root grasses) so you know what to expect.
