Perfectly named, Fire Star will take your breath away with its crimson blooms punctuated by cinnamon red eyes.

Offset by its grey-green foliage, the showy blossom's fragrance is reminiscent of cloves, making it perfect to include in planters on decks and other areas where you will enjoy not only the color, but the scent as well. Imagine a slope ablaze with thousands of rich red blossoms from late spring to autumn and awash in an ocean of blue-grey in the off season.

Fringed, crimson red, 1" blooms cover the foliage in spring, deadheading increases the bloom time. Will rebloom in the summer but not as profusely as in Spring.

Need a classic groundcover that puts up with heat, humidity, cold and drought, and is moderately tolerant of salt? Again, Dianthus gratianopolitanus fits the bill! Not only that, but the deer tend to avoid her.

This sweet perennial’s evergreen, linear foliage with opposite leaves will bathe a bank in a pool of deep blue-grey hues when it isn’t in bloom, and when it is in bloom, its showy, profuse, often fragrant, five-petaled, frilled blooms cover the plant for an extended period. Because of its spreading tendency, planting in mass yields by far the most rewarding display making it a classic garden essential!

Take note, Dianthus needs a sunny site with well-drained soil, but it tolerates some shade in the afternoon. Native mainly to Europe and Asia, Dianthus is a genus of about 300 species of flowering plants in the family Caryophyllaceae.

I received my 24 plants in only about 3 days. Packaging was adequate and the plants were all in good condition.
