If you want late-season color that looks fresh and refined, Anemone 'Snow Angel' is an excellent choice. This compact Japanese anemone forms a neat green mound and sends up slender, branching stems topped with bright white, petal-filled flowers with sunny centers from late summer into fall.
Plant it where you can enjoy the bloom show up close: along a border, near a path, or at the front of a woodland edge. At maturity it typically reaches about 15-18 inches tall and spreads around 10-15 inches, making it easy to tuck into mixed plantings without overwhelming neighbors.
Give your plant rich, well-drained soil that stays evenly moist. It performs best in part shade, especially with afternoon protection in warmer areas, but it can handle more sun if you water consistently during dry spells. A spring layer of compost and a light mulch help conserve moisture and keep roots comfortable.
For a tidy look, remove spent stems after flowering and cut back old growth as it fades. Divide clumps when needed to refresh vigor, and avoid letting the planting dry out for long periods, especially while it is establishing.
