Add bold color to a sunny trellis with Campsis × tagliabuana 'Summer JazzTM Fire'. This compact trumpet vine stays much more manageable than traditional trumpet vines, yet still produces showy, flared red-orange flowers with an orange throat that keep coming through the warm season. In full sun you will get the best bloom and the strongest color, and you can expect plenty of pollinator activity, especially hummingbirds and butterflies.

Plan for a mature size around 6-10 feet tall and roughly 6-10 feet wide, depending on support and pruning. Give it a sturdy trellis, fence, pergola, or arbor, and train young stems as they grow. It is hardy in USDA Zones 5-8. For a neat look, prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins, and trim only as needed during the season to guide growth and manage any runners.

Grow your plant in moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly the first season to help it establish, then let the top of the soil dry slightly between waterings. An all-purpose fertilizer in early spring is usually sufficient. Once established, this vine is generally low maintenance and makes a striking vertical accent in smaller spaces where you want big summer color without an oversized, aggressive vine.
