Gaylussacia brachycera 'Berried Treasure™' is an evergreen, low-growing huckleberry valued for glossy foliage and a spreading, groundcover habit. You will get a tidy carpet of small leaves that can turn burgundy to deep red in fall and winter, plus clusters of bell-shaped white flowers (often lightly pink) in late spring.

Because this plant expands by underground stems and forms colonies, it develops into a broad patch over time rather than a tall shrub. It is also slow growing, so plan for gradual fill-in. Mature height is typically 6-18 inches, while established patches can spread several feet wide in good conditions.

Give it acidic, well-drained soil and consistent moisture during establishment. A woodland edge or lightly shaded bed is ideal; part shade supports good foliage color and helps reduce stress. Once rooted in, keep mulch light and airy so stems can root and spread naturally.
