You will get the cleanest habit and the heaviest flowering when you plant it where it receives plenty of sun and the soil drains quickly.

Set plants where air moves freely and water does not linger, especially in winter. If your site is heavy or stays wet, amend with grit and raise the planting area to improve drainage. Water regularly during establishment, then let the soil dry slightly between deep soakings; once established, this candytuft handles short dry spells better than soggy feet.

After the main bloom flush, shear or lightly trim the plant to keep the mound dense and to encourage fresh growth. This simple step also helps prevent a leggy center over time. Avoid overfertilizing; a modest spring feeding or a thin top-dressing of compost is plenty in most gardens.
