Lilium orientale 'Casa Blanca' (Oriental Lily 'Casa Blanca') is a classic Oriental lily grown for its enormous, pure white, powerfully fragrant summer flowers. You will get tall, upright stems that look great in the back of a border and make outstanding cut flowers for bouquets.
Plant bulbs in rich, well-drained soil where your plants can receive full sun to part shade. Aim for consistent moisture during active growth, but avoid soggy conditions that can lead to bulb rot. A layer of mulch helps keep the root zone cool and evenly moist while protecting bulbs through winter cold.
As the stalks stretch, provide support if your site is windy, since large blooms can catch the breeze. Water at the base and keep foliage as dry as practical to reduce disease pressure. After flowering, remove spent blooms but leave the stems and leaves in place so they can feed the bulb for next year.
When foliage yellows in fall, you can cut stems back. In colder areas, add winter mulch after the ground cools. Keep lilies away from cats, as all true lilies can be extremely dangerous if chewed or ingested.
