Achillea × 'Firefly Diamond' (yarrow) is a tidy, upright perennial that brings a cooling note to sunny beds with long-lasting, ivory-white flower clusters held above ferny foliage. You get strong stems for cutting, plus steady bloom through much of summer when spent clusters are removed.
Plant it in full sun for the best flowering and the sturdiest habit. Give it well-drained soil; average to lean soils are often ideal, and consistently soggy sites can shorten its life. Water to establish, then let the soil dry slightly between waterings. Mature clumps typically reach about 24-28 inches tall and spread roughly 32-40 inches, so space plants to allow air flow and easy access for deadheading.
For the easiest care, shear or deadhead after a flush of bloom to encourage fresh new flowers and keep the plant looking neat. Cut stems back after flowering, or trim the whole plant lightly to refresh foliage. Divide every few years if the center thins or if you want more plants.
Use this yarrow to brighten borders, cottage-style plantings, and cutting gardens. Its flat-topped blooms pair well with ornamental grasses and other sun-loving perennials, and the flowers are a reliable butterfly magnet in summer.
