Plan on a mature size of roughly 18-24 inches tall, with a neat footprint that fits easily into borders, woodland edges, and shade beds. The blooms rise above the foliage in showy, plume-like clusters and create a soft, textured look that pairs well with bolder leaves. The plant also makes a nice repeating element when planted in small drifts.

Moisture is the key to keeping astilbe looking its best. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the first season and in summer heat.
