Give your plant full sun to part shade. More sun keeps growth denser, while part shade is helpful in areas with hot afternoon exposure. Plant in well-drained soil; avoid sites that stay soggy, especially in winter. Water regularly during the first growing season to help it establish, then provide deep watering during dry spells.
