With Microbiota decussata 'Celtic Pride®' (Siberian Cypress 'Celtic Pride®'), you get a low, spreading evergreen conifer that forms a soft, feathery carpet of bright green sprays and develops rich bronze tones in cool weather. Use it where you want year-round texture and dependable ground-hugging coverage without frequent trimming.

Plan for a plant that stays about 12-15 inches tall but can spread very wide over time. It performs best in full sun to part shade. In warmer, humid summer areas it can struggle, so give it good air flow and avoid heat-trapping spots next to pavement or reflective walls.

Plant in average, moist but well-drained soil. Water regularly during establishment, then let the soil dry slightly between waterings; it is more forgiving of short dry spells once rooted, but it does not like soggy, poorly drained conditions. Mulch lightly to moderate temperature swings and help hold even moisture, keeping mulch off the stems.

Pruning is usually unnecessary; simply remove any damaged or wayward growth as needed. Its low, prostrate habit makes it useful as a groundcover in beds, along the front of borders, and on banks where a tough evergreen mat is welcome.
