You will see pale yellow flowers marked with purple, backed by showy pink to lavender bracts that hold color as the plant blooms through summer into early fall.

Give it full sun for the strongest flowering, though it will also grow in part shade. You will get the best performance in well-drained soil, especially sandy or rocky sites. Once established, it tolerates dry spells well, making it a good fit for water-wise borders and meadow-style plantings.

At maturity, this herbaceous perennial typically stands 12-36 inches tall with a spread around 12-24 inches. Allow airflow between plants to help reduce powdery mildew risk, and avoid rich, constantly wet soils. A light mulch and occasional watering during prolonged drought is usually all it needs.

Spotted Beebalm is valued for wildlife: you can expect heavy pollinator activity, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The aromatic foliage is generally avoided by deer and rabbits. After flowering, you can cut stems back to tidy the planting, or let some seed mature if you want gentle self-seeding in a suitable site.
