Plant it in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil for the best flowering and a neat habit. Mature size is typically about 24-36 inches tall with a spread around 24-48 inches, so give it room to mound and spill slightly over edges. Water to establish, then let the soil dry a bit between waterings; overly wet winter soils are the most common cause of decline.

After the first big flush of bloom, shear or cut the plant back to encourage fresh growth and repeat flowering.
