Grow Origanum vul. 'Supreme' (Oregano 'Supreme') for aromatic foliage and easy, garden-to-kitchen harvests. You will get a compact clump that stays about 8-10 inches tall and gradually spreads to roughly 12-20 inches wide, making it useful along the front of beds, in herb gardens, or in sunny containers.
Give it full sun for the best growth and flavor, and plant it in well-drained soil. Let the soil dry slightly between waterings, then water deeply. This oregano tolerates dry conditions once established, but it will struggle in consistently wet, poorly drained spots.
In summer, stems carry clusters of small flowers that read as pinkish to purple, adding a soft accent above the foliage. Shear or trim as needed to keep plants tidy and encourage fresh leaf growth. If you are harvesting for cooking, clip sprigs regularly and dry extras for later use.
In most gardens, it performs reliably in USDA Zones 4-8. In colder areas, a well-drained site helps it overwinter; in warmer areas, good air flow and avoiding soggy soil keep it looking its best. Pair it with other sun-loving herbs and perennials in borders, rock gardens, and mixed plantings.
