Add Weigela florida 'Wine & Spirits®' (Weigela 'Wine & Spirits®') for high-contrast foliage and bright spring bloom in borders, foundations, and mixed shrub beds. You will get crisp, trumpet-shaped white flowers in late spring to early summer, often with additional lighter bloom later in the season after a timely prune.

Plant in full sun for the strongest foliage color and best flowering, though it will tolerate part shade. Give it evenly moist, well-drained soil during establishment; once rooted, it handles short dry spells better, but it performs best with regular moisture in prolonged heat. Mulch helps keep the root zone cooler and conserves moisture.

Mature size is typically 36-60 inches tall with a similar spread, so space plants with room to fill out and for good airflow. This deciduous shrub is easy to mix with perennials and grasses, and it also works well as a single specimen or in repeating groups for a clean, modern look.

Because it blooms on old wood, you should prune right after the main spring flush if shaping is needed. Remove a few of the oldest stems at the base every few years to keep the plant vigorous. The flowers are attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies, and the plant is often noted for deer resistance when established.
