Daylily 'Stella de Oro' {25 Bare Root plants}
Stella de Oro promises sunshine in your garden from early summer through to fall with her
golden
lightly
fragrant
2 1/2 inch flowers.
She's one of the best
repeat bloomers,
flowering in early summer, then repeating the cycle.
Semi-evergreen in warmer climates, Stella de Oro is the most popular of the daylilies for her ability to rebloom and her adaptability to a wide range of planting zones and conditions. Stella's fresh-green foliage forms dense clumps that function famously as a groundcover. Stella will richly reward you if you place her in a soil with plenty of humus-rich matter. If you want a compact, hardy personality and clusters of miniature golden sunshines suspended above lush foliage, you'll love Stella de Oro. Things to Note This plant's position in the garden should be carefully considered, as its flower heads turn toward the sun. This variety is dormant and remains without foliage for some period of time that is variable by growing region. Gardener Tips Stella D'Oro looks absolutely breathtaking when paired with Ruby Stella, a crimson daylily. Together they have the affect of a sizzling, summer sunset.

General information that applies to all plants:
Applying a balanced fertilizer in the spring as plants emerge will promote the amount and duration of blooming. It is recommended that you remove old foliage in late winter for best spring results. Be aware that daylilies will not thrive in poorly draining soil and will rot under soggy conditions. Fertilizing your plants immediately after each bloom period will promote re-blooming. In Zones 3 and 4, mulch with 5-6 inches of well-draining mulch in winter. Remember to remove mulch away from the crowns in spring.Deadheading spent flower heads is recommended to promote extended blooming. - Ground preparation, fertilization, pH - Planting instructions - Explanation and description of bare roots - How to plant bare root plants - If you cannot plant bare roots right away |
