Daylily 'Kwanso' {25 Bare Root plants}
The blazing crem de la crem of daylilies, Kwanso's blossom is so full of softly curling
tangerine
petals that everyone has to stop to examine her beauty.
Riveting rusty-red highlights bleed into Kwanso's 4 inch citrusy
blooms
and overlapping petals.
Often referred to as a diploid, Kwanso actually produces triple the usual number of petals and as such, is a triploid daylily with its stamen modified into additional petals. Technical phrases aside, what this means for you is that your garden gets a decadent blooming, heirloom daylily with layer upon layer of luxurious and intricate petals. Kwanso is known for being a repeat bloomer in the mid to late season. Spreading aggressively, Kwanso is reliable and hardy and her big clumps hold banks, line driveways, and define the edges of lawns with virtually no care at all. If you want profuse, sumptuous blooms, this creamsicle-colored daylily will not disappoint. Things to Note This variety is dormant and remains without foliage for some period of time that is variable by growing region. Gardener Tips We think this daylily stands beautifully alone when planted in mass. Consider filling an entire bank or large garden with these daylilies and border the front with cool-magenta Ice Plant for a simply stunning display of perpetual color.

General information that applies to all plants:
Applying a balanced fertilizer in the spring as plants emerge will promote the amount and duration of blooming. It is recommended that you remove old foliage in late winter for best spring results. Be aware that daylilies will not thrive in poorly draining soil and will rot under soggy conditions. Fertilizing your plants immediately after each bloom period will promote re-blooming. In Zones 3 and 4, mulch with 5-6 inches of well-draining mulch in winter. Remember to remove mulch away from the crowns in spring. - Ground preparation, fertilization, pH - Planting instructions - Explanation and description of bare roots - How to plant bare root plants - If you cannot plant bare roots right away |
