You will get a low cushion of silvery-blue foliage that looks good even when the plant is not in bloom, then a flush of richly colored flowers that stands out against the cool-toned leaves.

For best results, plant it where it receives full sun to part sun and provide loose, well-drained soil. Like many dianthus, it appreciates neutral to slightly alkaline conditions and will struggle in soggy ground, especially in winter.
