Helleborus Winter Sparkle 'White', commonly sold as Lenten Rose 'White', brightens shaded gardens with clean winter and early spring flowers. Leathery evergreen foliage builds a rounded clump about 12 to 18 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide, giving you structure before and after the bloom season. The white nodding blossoms stand out beautifully in low light and make shaded entries, woodland paths, and protected patio plantings feel fresh before most perennials wake up.

Use this hellebore as an early-season focal point, a shade-border anchor, a container specimen, or a repeated planting beneath open shrubs and deciduous trees. The white flowers combine easily with snowdrops, blue brunnera blooms, silver foliage, ferns, hostas, heucheras, sedges, and other cool-season companions. In groups, the evergreen leaves create a steady framework while the pale flowers add a clear seasonal highlight.

Plant Helleborus Winter Sparkle 'White' in part shade to full shade with fertile, well-drained soil that stays moderately moist. High filtered light and morning sun are often ideal, especially where summers are warm. Add organic matter before planting, mulch lightly to protect the root zone, and keep new plants watered while they establish. Avoid soggy ground or sites where hot afternoon sun can scorch the foliage. Deer and rabbits usually leave hellebores alone.

Seasonal care is easy. Remove worn or winter-damaged leaves in late winter so the white flowers can be seen, then let new foliage fill in after bloom. Keep mulch away from the crown and give the clump room for airflow.
