Plant it where you can give it plenty of light. Full sun is best for sturdy stems and the heaviest flowering. In very hot areas, a little afternoon shade can help flowers last longer, but avoid deep shade which can reduce bloom and make growth floppy.

Give it well-drained soil and avoid consistently wet sites, especially in winter. Once established, it handles dry spells well and is a smart choice for lean, sandy, or rocky soils. Water new plantings regularly until roots settle in; after that, water deeply only when the top few inches of soil dry out. A light feeding in spring is usually enough in average garden soil.

At maturity it stays nicely sized at about 12-15 inches tall with a 12-15 inch spread, making it ideal for borders, small spaces, and containers.
