Hemerocallis 'Little Grapette' (Daylily 'Little Grapette') is a compact daylily that makes tidy clumps of arching, grass-like foliage topped with miniature, richly colored blooms in early to midsummer. You can use it to edge a path, tuck it into the front of a perennial border, or mass it for a ribbon of color that is easy to maintain.
Give it full sun for the most flowers, though it will also perform in part shade, especially where summers run hot. Plant in average, well-drained soil and water regularly the first season to help it establish. After that, daylilies are adaptable, but they bloom best with consistent moisture while in active growth and flowering. Mulch helps keep the root zone cooler and reduces moisture swings.
As the clump matures, you can lift and divide it every few years to refresh vigor and expand your planting. Remove spent flower stalks if you prefer a neater look, and trim back old foliage when it yellows. This cultivar stays on the shorter side (about 12-18 inches tall) with a modest spread, making it a reliable choice for small gardens and containers where you want a long-lived perennial that returns year after year.
