Daylily 'Aztec Gold' {25 Bare Root plants}
Like the base of a glimmering golden trumpet, Aztec Gold's blooms will bring a jazzy feeling to your garden.
She has large (3 to 4 inch)
golden-yellow
blossoms early to mid-season.
Aztec gold clumps
rapidly,
giving a solid mass of aloe-green foliage that dances in breezes.
Gardeners often seek this variety for the punch of color the sunny blossoms yield.
This daylily is named for the colors of Aztec culture in old Mexico. Things to Note This variety is dormant and remains without foliage for some period of time that is variable by growing region. Gardener Tips We adore a garden with Aztec Gold and Autumn Red (see our discounted package), and Black-Eyed Susan. You will achieve lush textural elements combined with staggered bloom times and even multiple bloomers at once. You could replace the Black-Eyed Susan with Red Astilbe if your location is part shade instead of full sun.

General information that applies to all plants:
Applying a balanced fertilizer in the spring as plants emerge will promote the amount and duration of blooming. It is recommended that you remove old foliage in late winter for best spring results. Be aware that daylilies will not thrive in poorly draining soil and will rot under soggy conditions. Fertilizing your plants immediately after each bloom period will promote re-blooming. In Zones 3 and 4, mulch with 5-6 inches of well-draining mulch in winter. Remember to remove mulch away from the crowns in spring. - Ground preparation, fertilization, pH - Planting instructions - Explanation and description of bare roots - How to plant bare root plants - If you cannot plant bare roots right away |
