Elevate your garden's charm with Phlox subulata 'Fort Hill', a captivating variety of creeping phlox renowned for its delicate pink blossoms and lush, spreading foliage. This enchanting ground cover infuses any landscape with a gentle splash of color, perfect for softening garden edges and enriching rockeries.

'Fort Hill' is celebrated for its vibrant carpet of soft pink flowers that bloom profusely in the spring. These delicate blooms are complemented by dense, needle-like foliage that remains attractive even when the flowers are not in bloom, providing a verdant backdrop throughout the growing season. The flowers not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of your garden but also attract an array of pollinators, including butterflies and hummingbirds, contributing to the ecological health of your garden.

Ideal for borders, slopes, and as an accent in rock gardens, Phlox subulata 'Fort Hill' thrives in well-drained soil and full sun, where it can spread effectively to cover ground and suppress weeds. Its mat-forming habit helps to stabilize soil on slopes and beautifies areas under taller plants, creating layers of interest in varied garden settings.

'Fort Hill' is a low-maintenance choice, requiring little care once established and demonstrating good drought tolerance. It's also resistant to deer, making it an excellent option for gardens in rural or semi-rural settings. Its hardy nature ensures that it returns each year with renewed vigor, providing a reliable and enchanting display of pink.

Phlox subulata 'Fort Hill' offers a combination of visual beauty, ecological benefits, and ease of care, making it a prized addition for any gardener looking to add a long-lasting touch of soft color and texture to their outdoor spaces.

If a punch of vibrant pink color is what you are seeking, search no more. Fort Hill will not only paint your garden in warm, inviting hues, she'll also call butterflies and hummingbirds to come to the party.

Fort Hill's creeping habit makes it perfect for plantings over walls and in cracks. In addition to being tolerant of clay or sand in its soil, this Phlox variety thrives in polluted and windy conditions making her a wonderful option for urban gardeners.

General information about Phlox:
Any gardener who has used Creeping Phlox once will insist on planting again and again. The blanket of delicate, colorful flowers that greet you every spring can only be described as perfectly pretty year after year.

A versatile, easy-to-grow groundcover that forms a dense carpet-like mat no taller than six inches, Phlox proves excellent for erosion control on slopes and in plantings of any size. She cascades like billows of cloth over curbs, drapes down walls, and huddles over hanging baskets. Her flowers blanket slopes all across the south in spring, but her wispy sage evergreen foliage is also an undeniable feature with their tell-tale linear growth.

Though she does prefer full sun for best blooms, she will also do well in partial sun. While she puts up with a variety of soil conditions, ideally she wants well-drained soil and tolerates drought (does not tolerate too much moisture).

Phlox makes a good edging plant for difficult locations including rock gardens. She comes in a variety of colors, so you’re sure to find the perfect shade for your garden.

Gardener Tips
Consider placing multiple plants in one area for quick filling, then in 2-3 growing seasons, you can easily divide this plant in early spring and use her in other areas.

Try planting Phlox with bulbs such as tulips and daffodils for a gorgeous spring display.

Try planting Phlox as a border for herb gardens where she will blanket the earth beneath taller growers such as basil, chives and lavender while not disturbing their productivity.
