Phlox 'Volcano® Purple With White Eye' is a compact garden phlox selection that fills the middle of the border with bold, bicolored summer color. You will get tight clusters of purple blooms, each with a crisp white eye that reads clearly from a distance and looks great in mixed beds and cutting gardens.

Plant it where it receives full sun to part shade; more sun generally means sturdier growth and heavier flowering, while light afternoon shade can be helpful in hot-summer areas. Provide evenly moist, well-drained soil enriched with compost, and water at the base during dry spells to keep foliage looking fresh. A 2-3 inch mulch layer helps conserve moisture and keeps roots cooler, but keep mulch off the crown to avoid rot.
