In full sun, it produces rich, velvety red blooms on a rounded plant that fits well in borders, foundations, and low hedges. Mature size is typically about 36-48 inches tall and 36-48 inches wide, making it easy to tuck into mixed plantings or feature as a bold accent.

Plant in a sunny spot with well-drained soil, and water deeply to establish a strong root system. Once established, keep moisture even during dry stretches so flowering stays steady. A 2-3 inch layer of mulch helps hold moisture and keeps the root zone cooler in summer; keep mulch a few inches back from the canes to reduce moisture on the stems.

For best flowering, feed in spring and again after the first flush, following your preferred rose fertilizer directions. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage repeat bloom, or leave some blooms to finish if you enjoy a more natural look. In late winter or early spring, prune out dead or weak wood and lightly shape the shrub; remove any crossing stems to improve airflow.
