Plant it where you can provide morning sun and afternoon shade, or bright filtered light. In hotter climates, extra shade helps prevent wilt and sunscald, while good airflow helps keep foliage looking clean. A layer of mulch helps conserve moisture and moderates soil temperatures.

Give it rich, well-drained soil and regular watering during dry spells, especially in the first year and when grown in containers. Feed lightly in spring and again after the first flush of bloom if needed; avoid heavy late-season feeding that can push tender growth.

Because it is a reblooming selection, you can prune sparingly.
