Coral Drift (Rosa 'Coral Drift®') is a low, mounding groundcover rose that brings bright coral-orange color to beds, borders, and containers. You will get dense clusters of small blooms that keep coming through the growing season, with glossy foliage that stays tidy and attractive. At maturity it typically reaches about 12-18 inches tall and spreads 24-36 inches, making it easy to edge a path, soften a slope, or fill the front of a planting.
Give your rose the best performance by planting it where it receives full sun for the most flowers, though it will also handle part shade (especially in hotter areas). Choose well-drained soil and water deeply during the first season to help roots establish. A 2-3 inch mulch layer helps even out moisture and keeps the root zone cooler in summer and warmer in winter; keep mulch pulled back a bit from the canes.
For simple care, feed in spring as new growth starts and again after the first heavy flush of blooms, following your preferred rose fertilizer directions. Deadheading will encourage additional flowering, but this plant can still look good even when you do not clip every spent bloom. In late winter or early spring, lightly prune to shape and remove any damaged or crossing canes; a modest trim is usually all that is needed to keep the plant compact.
Space plants so air can move through the foliage, and water at the base rather than overhead when possible. If you see stressed growth during heat spells, increase irrigation frequency temporarily and check that the root zone is soaking thoroughly. With steady sun, consistent watering while establishing, and an occasional tidy-up, this rose delivers long-lasting color with minimal fuss.
